Saltysardine has been offered to the consumer as a brand of MKS&DevO Textile and Chemical Substances Industry and Trade Corp. MKS & DevO Textile, which is a company developing and offering chemicals to the sectors of textile, leather and construction, made a decision to create a brand, out of necessity, while selling these chemicals. While offering its product to the companies capable of using them and receiving many demands such as ‘lets see the fabric, lets see the trousers’; the company realized that it became an end manufacturer. Company manufactured its first products to use in fairs concerning Chemistry and give them as New Year’s presents to its clients. After the rather positive reactions coming from the customers, the question of ‘why not offer the consumer the natural, functional and nanotechnology recycled textile product as a brand and as CERTIFIED’ began busiying the heads.

The brand of Saltysardine’s foundation has first been begun to be grounded in September of year 2006.

Attentions have been drawn to the chemicals and cancerogenic substances used in textile and are harmful to the human health with various news. While the organic product storm, which occurred right after, was continuing; it has been observed that no one asked the question of ‘where is the proof that it is actually organic’.

Therefore we considered to intoroduce into market such products that we are going to add functionality to the products by using nanotechnology; we are going to create designs which can be used both as chic and casual, above all we are going to proof that these products contain no cancerogenic substances which are harmful to human health by giving a CERTIFICATE together with the product. Furthermore, we are going to bring such concept to the consumer and create such awareness that they are going to ask for a Certificate in other products they purchase.

So, this is how the Saltysardine has begun to take shape and the first foundations were laid in the December of 2007.

Increadible studies, discussions and analysis have been made on the name and finally Korgün Şengün, who is the person we inherited from our ancestors, enabled us to adopt the name of “Saltysardine” as brand by being inspired from salting and storing, which is the oldest, the most natural and healthiest method of storage. As a result, Saltysardine was going to be a quite suitable name for products which were going to be compleately natural, containing none of the substances that are harmful to human health and be stored for long years without losing anything from their naturalness.

The question was, how were they going to be sold? The web of internet, which can be access by anyone living in almost the most out of the way corner on earth, was determined as the fist selling point. And finally its lounching was performed in the Les Ottoman Hotel in Istanbul on May 12, 2008.

A contract was signed in June of 2008 with the Edwards Department Stores that have never before sold any Turkish brand and our products began to be offered to consumen in the Kalamış department stores.

And it opened its first show room style department store in Ardıçlı Evler Bahçeşehir in November of 2008.

There is a rather grand Research and Development laboratory managed by people who work world wide behind the brand of Saltysardine.
